What is the Color Guard and what do they do?

The Color Guard is a team of Apollo AFJROTC cadets who honor America by Presenting the Colors at patriotic and athletic events, at the start of organizational meetings, and on many more occasions.  The "Colors" are the United States Flag and other flags carried by the Color Guard. The basic Color Guard consists of a Color Guard Commander who carries the United States Flag, another cadet who carries an additional flag, and two cadets who symbolically "guard" the flag by carrying facsimile firearms.  Members of the Color Guard are highly skilled at precision drill, and maintain the highest standards of appearance and conduct.  They must also have an outstanding knowledge of United States Flag protocol. Being on the Color Guard or Drill Team is the first step in advancing to the Exhibition Drill Team.
