The Drill Team consists of a formation of cadet executing precision drill.  Our drill team performs both armed and unarmed drill.  In armed drill, the formation carries facsimile rifles while performing a drill sequence. Drill is a basic military skill and is easily learned. The Drill Team consists of a "First Year" team of cadets who are in their first year of JROTC.  There is also and "Advanced" drill team that consists of cadets beyond their first year of JROTC, and may also include "first year" cadets who have demonstrated an advanced level of drill proficiency.  Both the First Year and the Advanced Drill Teams compete in competitions with other JROTC units.  However, the First Year Drill Team does not perform armed drill in competitions.  The Drill Team also performs with the Color Guard at athletic events, parades, Veterans' Day programs and other ceremonial events.  Being on the Drill Team or the Color Guard is the first step in advancing to the Exhibition Drill Team. The Drill Team annually competes in the  AFJROTC National Drill Championship competition held in Macon Georgia in the Spring of each year. The top AFJROTC Drill Teams in the nation participate in this event and the competition is fierce!
